INSURANCE AND ADMIN
THE J1 VISA PROCESS
• Complete UKISC Online
Application
• Receive invitation to induction or interview
• Attend UKISC induction/interview
• Receive contract offer/accept contract
• Pay UKISC visa & insurance fees
• Obtain Disclosure/CRB Check and submit to UKISC **(see below)
• Once payment has been received, UKISC will request DS-2019 (work authorization)
from YMCA International
• UKISC will send you the DS-2019 (work authorization) form and other
required forms
• SEVIS: Register online with Student Exchange Visitor Service at
www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/index.htm,
complete application, pay registration fee of approx £25, print off
receipt to take to Embassy
• Book visa interview date at US Embassy
• Attend interview at US Embassy with valid passport and completed paperwork
• Upon successful completion of US Embassy interview, applicant will
receive passport along with J1 visa stamped inside within 7 working days
2008 INSURANCE INFORMATION
Included with your visa, we provide you with Orbit Excel comprehensive medical
travel insurance, which covers you during your stay in the USA.
The ORBIT EXCEL is an excellent long stay travel insurance, which provides
the essential COMPREHENSIVE levels of cover that you need during your time
in the USA.
This scheme is EXCELLENT value as it offers high levels of ESSENTIAL
cover for student travel and working abroad. The level of MEDICAL INSURANCE
is £5,000,000. More information will be provided as we progress.
**CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
All coaches are required to apply for a Police Background
Check which has to be submitted to UKISC. Note: Those applicants with previous
convictions will not be granted a visa.
1. Download the application form which can be found by clicking (Data
Protection Form).
2. Print the document, complete all the details and follow instructions.
3. You need to tick the box which states 'if you require information held
on the Police National Computer about Prosecutions, Convictions and Cautions
History, tick here'.
4. There is a fee of £10 which you have to submit with this form along
with proof of identity and then post to the address clearly stated on the
form.
NOTE: Applying for the visa can be a long process, so DO NOT DELAY. More detailed
visa information will be sent to you upon employment confirmation.
